Rotary Piling lead times have increased by 3 weeks to 10 weeks whilst Pre-cast Piling remains stable at 5 weeks for the second quarter

Concrete Works lead time remains at 10 weeks for the third quarter running.

Structural Steel Frames lead times is back on the increase following a short period of stabilisation last quarter, availability of steel is amongst the reasons for the increase of 4 weeks to 19 weeks.

Cladding – re-constructed stone and Natural Material lead times have both stabilised at 22 weeks and 32 weeks respectively.

Cladding – curtain walling system following the previous fluctuations lead time have stabilised at 44 weeks.

Cladding – metal panellised system remains static with a lead in of 36 weeks

Atrium Roof Average lead times have stabilised at 27 weeks.

Roof Finish - profiled metal has stabilised at 13 weeks for the second quarter.

Roof Finishes –asphalt / membrane remains at 9 weeks for the second quarter running.

Façade Cleaning Equipment having remained static for the past 12 months, lead times are increasing by 5 weeks to 40 weeks. This is largely due to increased complexity of projects increasing design and manufacturing time.

Brickwork and Blockwork despite both predicting last month that they did not anticipate significant change this quarter, the industry down turn has resulted in the lead times reducing by 3 weeks to 7 weeks for brickwork and by 5 weeks to 5 weeks for blockwork.

Metal Doors Lead times have reduced by 2 weeks to 6.

Drylining Lead times remain at 8 weeks with no forecast increase for the next quarter.

Demountable Partitions lead times remain at 8 weeks as order books remain constant.

General Joinery lead time has reduced by 1 week to 10 weeks whilst Specialist Joinery remains stabile at 15 weeks.

Raised Floors lead times remains static at 6 weeks; there has been no change in this lead in time for the past year.

Suspended Ceiling lead time remain static at 15 weeks for the second quarter.

Architectural Metalwork lead times have remained static at 12 weeks for the past 12 months

Decorative Wall Covering the average lead-in of suppliers has remained at 4 weeks for the past 2 years – with no change forecast

Internal Stone Floor and Wall Finish remains static at 24 weeks.

Soft Floor Finish lead times remains at 7 weeks.

Passenger Lift-non standard lead time remains at 31 weeks, standard lifts can reduce this lead time by around 15 weeks.

Escalator lead times remain at 24 weeks.

Electrical Packages lead times have reduced by 4 weeks to 19 weeks whilst Mechanical Packages remain static at 20 weeks.

Ductwork lead in time has increased by 1 week to 8 weeks.

Controls remain stable at 8 weeks.

Boiler rooms and standard M&E plant and equipment remain largely unchanged including air conditioning (14 weeks), uninterruptible power supplies (16 weeks), switch gear, generators (23 weeks), data and voice cabling and sprinklers (9 weeks). However specialist larger equipment including Biomass Boilers, CHP plant and Solar Equipment are on longer lead in as demand is now much higher due to sustainability pressures.

A high percentage of the specialist trade contractors are forecasting an increase in capacity over the next few months, but many still believe that there will be a return to busy order books in the medium and longer term with optimism that projects delayed will get the go ahead. Of the packages reporting increased lead times a number are affected by the availability of steel as reported in the spotlight feature.
